One of the things you'll notice about my blog is the fact that I am a classic television freak. I collect classic commercials and enjoy the days of when TV was innocent. You knew who was good and bad. Yes, everyone was white , up until the mid 60's, but it was all good. You don't really see that anymore, which is a real shame. Everyone is so P.C. 'till it's just a joke now.

Did I mention I'm Black, by the way? So, as you'll see, this will make this blog REALLY interesting.

Now when I say I'm Black, I'm not Snoop Dogg Black, nor am I Bryant Gumbel Black. I'm Sam Johnson, a guy who just happens to be Black. I am very proud of my heritage, which is also part Cherokee. I've always played to the beat of my own funky drummer, which is fine by me. I've had some call me a sellout, others call me an egghead, and more call me Hootie. Which, by the way, I HATE. I'm just a guy trying to make his in the world without stepping on any feet.

I'll try and have a picture up sometime soon, if you want to get a look at me, or you just need a laugh. Until then, I just found out that the Good Life Cable Network has just gotten the rights to air the color episodes of the Honeymooners. For anyone who remembers, it was one of the greatest sitcoms of all time , starring the Great One, Jackie Gleason and the the best side man on TV, Art Carney. They only made 42 of these shows, in color for one hour, in of all places, Miami Beach. One of my first memories as a child was seeing the opening of the show with the shot of the ocean, and Johnny Olson announcing, "It's The Honeymooners!" You can find out more about the shows by clicking here.
